Medicine runs in Dr Jones's family. Her father was an internationally renowned professor of Veterinary Pharmacology, her mother was a pharmacist, and her sister is a working pharmacist. Siobhan spent part of her childhood living in a small village in Ireland where the veterinarian made housecalls as part of his regular practise, so housecalls are as familiar to her as they were to James Herriott (author of "All Creatures Great and Small").

Dr Jones became intrigued with acupuncture when she was 12 years old, when she picked up a very large book about Equine Acupuncture at the community library in Perth, Western Australia. She had her first acupuncture treatment 24 years ago and was so impressed that she decided to make it a focus of her own practice. She has studied it at both the Chi Institute and the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society.

Homeopathy has been part of her background since her mother began promoting it at her pharmacy in Ireland back in the 1980s. Homeopathy has been in use in the United States since the mid 1800s when it was introduced from Germany by Drs Kent and Hering. Veterinary homeopathy has been practised successfully in animals in the States since the 1980s and is becoming more widely accepted and valued all the time. Dr Jones has taken the only recognized Veterinary Homeopathy course in the US and is now a member of the Academy of Veterinary Homeopaths. She practices Classical Homeopathy, as taught and mentored by Dr Richard Pitcairn, author of "Complete Secrets to the Natural Health of Dogs and Cats".

Dr Jones taught courses in Anatomy and Veterinary Ethics at the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine and St Georges University in the Caribbean. She brings this love of teaching to her daily practice now.  Clients appreciate the time she spends both explaining and interpreting tests and results, and she will help you to understand the whole process and nature of diagnosis and healing, and your options.

Dr Jones has worked for many years in small animal practice, starting in Oregon then moving to Arizona to work in an exclusively feline hospital in Scottsdale before she and her husband chose to settle in Cochise County as their home. She is very familiar with "High Tech" veterinary medicine and has participated in numerous professional seminars on such topics as advanced feline medicine, dermatology, nutrition, pet hospice and geriatric animal care.

Dr Jones started performing occasional housecalls while working at Apache Animal Hospital in Sierra Vista, and found that she loved the personal nature of home visits.  So she decided to make holistic home visits her full time vocation. Enlightened Veterinary Care Vet 2 U  was born! Give her a call and get your pet started on the path to wellness!

"Dr Jones is so supportive and patient with my many questions. I never feel rushed. I have confidence in her expertise in both holistic and allopathic medicine, depending on the situation. It is new to me to treat the cause and not just the symptoms, but I am now a believer!"
Deb, Portal AZ.
